Unlock Ancient Egypt’s Grandeur: Giza Pyramids Saqqara and Memphis Tour.
Embark on a Giza Pyramids Saqqara and Memphis Tour, a full-day journey through Egypt’s most iconic landmarks. From the Great Pyramid’s towering majesty to Memphis’ ancient ruins, this tour immerses you in 5,000 years of history. Ideal for history enthusiasts and first-time visitors, every site reveals secrets of pharaohs, engineers, and the world’s oldest civilization.
1. Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx: Wonders of the Ancient World
Your Giza Pyramids Saqqara and Memphis Tour begins at the Giza Plateau, home to the last surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Stand before the Great Pyramid of Khufu, a 4,500-year-old marvel built with 2.3 million limestone blocks. Learn how ancient engineers aligned it precisely with the stars. Then, explore the Pyramid of Khafre, still crowned with its original casing stones, and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure.
Face the Great Sphinx, the lion-bodied guardian carved from a single limestone outcrop. Your guide will decode theories about its missing nose and link to Pharaoh Khafre’s solar cult.
Pro Tip: Arrive early to avoid crowds and capture sunrise photos over the pyramids.
2. Saqqara: Birthplace of Pyramid Engineering
Next, drive to Saqqara, the vast necropolis of Egypt’s Old Kingdom. Here, your Giza Pyramids Saqqara and Memphis Tour reveals the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world’s first stone pyramid. Designed by Imhotep in 2650 BCE, its six tiers symbolize the pharaoh’s stairway to the sun god Ra. Explore nearby tombs adorned with hieroglyphs depicting daily life, festivals, and afterlife rituals.
Did You Know? Saqqara’s “Bent Pyramid” in Dahshur (visible en route) showcases ancient trial-and-error engineering.
3. Memphis: Capital of the Ancient World
